I’m an amateur writer, singer, and outdoor enthusiast in my 20’s. I was born and raised in Alaska, USA, and have terrible taste in music. Sadly, anything peppy makes me very happy. The first 3 things my current roommates say to describe me to potential roommates are 1) She’s really nice for an American, 2) She is weirdly possessive about bananas, and 3) Every time Bettina is sick, she watches Harry Potter, while reading Harry Potter.
Thanks guys, I’m a weirdo about fruit and Harry Potter, who’s nice for an American.
Currently I’m a voluntary, perpetual student; I have a BA in Early Childhood Education, and am hoping to finish my MA in International Education by 2017. My focus is currently curriculum research, and learning styles. Life permitting, I hope to continue on some day to a PhD, and when I do, I’ll sign every e-mail to my sister Bettina the Blogger, PhD.
When not in school, I work in schools as a teacher. I just really love schools. Really. I’ve taught ages 18 months to 8 years, and couldn’t tell you which is my favorite, but I have rather a lot in common with toddlers.
We all need frequent snacks and naps, and really hate when people touch our stuff.
I’m currently living in Reykjavík Iceland, and love the nature, Lopapeysas, and chilly weather here. I’d love it even more if I could keep a pet sheep, but the landlord is surprisingly stubborn. My goal for the year is upping my creative writing game, and getting my Icelandic proficient enough to chat in shops and restaurants.
